Sweet Butter Toast

Hmm…food, travel, books, and just random stuff that I like.

I like to thank my dear friend Lena for deciding to celebrate her birthday with dinner at Ink. The omakase experience was fun, interesting and delicious. Our server explained what was in every dish that was served, we then snapped some pictures and proceeded to figure out on our own what each dish was composed of. Obviously, we were too engrossed with how good the food look to pay attention to our server.  Sorry dude. Luckily, we were smart enough to have requested to keep a few copies of the menu as a guide.

vodka, lime, ginger, soda

vodka house tonic

beef tartare, horseradish, hearts of palm, sea bean chimchurri

kale, burrata, asian pear, pumpkin seeds, yuzu

lamb neck, chickpea poutine, yogurt curds, chive puree

brussels sprouts, pig ears, house-cured lardo, apple

I think this was the spaghetti, giant squid, squash, hazelnut ink pesto, pigment d'espelette. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

veal cheek, red curry, nante carrots, fried and stick rice

I completely forgot what this was but I remember it being really good.

berkshire pork, charcoal crust, macaroni and cheese, leeks

chocolate, coffee, spice???

apple, creme caramel, burnt wood sabayon, walnut

What’s the perfect ending to a great meal? Shaking hands with the chef, Michael Voltaggio, and getting in a group photo.

Happy Birthday Lena!!!
